Well, I did it.
I ordered a case of Neocate to start with.
I also tried to find it on Amazon.com and eBay for cheaper, but a word of wisdom: DON'T get it anywhere but from the website directly! I did a lot of research into pretty much every type of formula before I pulled the trigger. The cans are about $49 each and are quite small-- they'll only last about four days on the volume she is currently eating.
Right now, RK is on Enfamil Gentlease. This formula has partially broken down cow's milk proteins. The formulation is identical to Enfamil's Premium newborn/infant formulas with the exception of the degree to which the proteins are (Gentlease) or are not (their premium formula) broken down.
We tried Similac Alimentum for two feedings a few weeks ago. What a nightmare that was!! First of all, the stuff smells absolutely rancid, so I can only imagine what it tasted like to her. She cringed, squirmed, and whimpered through both feedings with it, and then screamed her head off for hours afterward. Even though we only tried it twice, Mike and I knew we couldn't bear to do it again, even though we acknowledged that there IS a transition time where the baby has to get used to the new formula. Still, it was too frustrating for everyone involved, especially Reagan.
The Neocate arrived this afternoon. Reagan just ate, so we'll see how it goes later!
The unboxing..... outside box

It's here, it's here!!!
